Default Mobil mech central nj

Any Mobil mech on site, not a big job, replace old automatic 500 gpm bilge , with new one. Current one is probably the orginal, 15 yrs old, it's the type that comes on every 3mins, regardless, to sense for water. Looking for similar, but not come on every 3 min, or open to a float attachment. In Middlesex County. Monroe

Sorry. No specializers in bilge work. I would guess the smaller the worker, the better?

Never heard of a timer triggered bilge pump. I would think they would die very quickly running empty every three minutes. If they ran for 3 minutes. That's 10 cycles per hour or 240 per day x 3 minutes. Or 720 minutes a day. 12 hours a day run time every day.

I would think that thing would be lucky to last more than one season

Not the best design. Comes on for 1 second, every 3 min to check for water. If it detects water , then comes on until water is gone. I constantly have the battery charger on. Rule says it's the electronic sensor doing its job, and has little draw on battery?? I like the external float switch better

I found a better one than float. On the sea tow boats the floats would get jammed with crap in the bilge like a pen did once. Deck drains to the bilge because deck line is below waterline and can't use scuppers. So it gets to be a junk collector.

On own my 14 footer, I've been using a solid state attachable float switch for my 2500 gph Rule for about 5 years. Flawless.

That design is ridiculous because you still end up with a sensor to fail anyway.
