Default Boat Rental

I was planning on renting from the last remaining place in the Highlands (not sure if they are a sponsor). Normally I rent from Pete but he is no longer renting boats. I believe this place charges $80 for the day for the small boat. My question is, has anyone rented here and what was your experience? It says it fits 4, is that comfortably? Also, anything I should know before renting there. Feel free to answer here or PM me, never rented there before. Taking my better half out for some fluking and slamming some brews!

I have never rented from that location before either and am also planning on doing so sometime over the next couple of weeks. I have rented similar looking boats from other locations in the past. Four adults is doable but on the tight side. Though, I would sooner squeeze four than rent another boat. I second the request for any available feedback or suggestions.

You can also rent from Browns Point Marina as well in Keyport. Good fishing beyond the sailboats there and great crabbing in the creek or along the canal. His motors and boats are all pretty new.

I rented the $80 boat on Sunday.

It was raining and the bay was choppy. The boat did fine.
I had one with a brand new engine.

Nice friendly guys at the dock who just laughed as I crashed upon return. The current was ripping past the dock when I came back.

Def room for 4. I was with one friend.

Sandy hook is beautiful and offers many places to fish.

He has a 15 HP for $20 more
It may be better for fishing getting you out to the tip of the hook faster.
It was a 20 minute ride to horseshoe cove.

We liked it so much we're renting again on Sunday for the am.

Fishing was good. Many 17" and we managed a couple keepers a piece.

Thanks for the info. I am hoping to get out the middle of next week. If I manage to escape I will let you know how we do.
