Default Fish ID??

Got this guy at a small creek today was thinking possibly my first redfin............ can anyone confirm??? Thanx in advance.

I was going to say that the state stocks some small musky and that some musky have red fins.
But the marking under the fish's eye gives it away. I'd say it's a redfin. Congrats on your first btw.

Redfin pickerel. Probably harder to catch than a musky.

Thanks for the feedback fellows. I actually caught this guy along with two others in a native brook trout stream in Passaic county. I took the pic to show my buddy that there is to many pickeral in this native stream thinking it was a chain pickeral. My original thought was man these guys being in here can't be good for the Brookies. And I went on and released it thinking it may not be the best thing for that particular stream. Then later that night going through my photos I noticed it didn't look like your average pickeral. Thanx again guys.

the redfins i've caught look more like tiny tiger musky...idk hard to say, fish color varies a lot with water clarity so the markings don't really help id the fish in this case i think.

Some nice trout ! I always thought the redfin was just that, the fins are bright red.

Fishing up by me nice! I doubt anyone stocks the slime darts, their gonna co exists, and they'll prob find a nice weedy muddy spot to hang out in. Looks like a nice day, congrats
