Default My New (used) Toy

After many years of shore only fishing I'm now the proud owner of this bad boy. 12 ft canoe equiped with a 50lb thrust Motorguide trolling motor!! Also, my boater safety class is next week so it will be official. Only thing left to do after that is put new wheels on the trailer (which I have), register boat and trailer, maybe pick up a new battery, then hit the water!!!

Prob hit the passaic first. That 50lb thrust should have no prob moving me upstream. Unless it rains a bit. Then in April ill start hitting echo lake and Clinton Rd resevoir. And whatever else I have time for.

Best of luck with your new craft. I hope it provides you with many hours of happiness and ton's of fish. Good luck with your test. I remember when I took mine there were a lot of questions on PWC's.

NICE! Congrats on the new whip (ha!)

Seriously though.. some of my best memories are from a boat just like that... and having to row it as a 10 year old across Erskine Lake as my dad and grandpa and uncle sat back and enjoyed the breeze...

But hey.. now i deadlift 450+ so i guess it helped... lol

on a serious note... get some oars.. it's fun. best of luck!

I've got the oars, lol. That's why I thought about getting a new battery, don't really want to use them.

You may not want to use them, but they will definitely save the day if you have engine trouble. Plus, rowing will make you look manly with your lady.

If she is not on the boat or you are all alone, disregard what I say above and flag down the nearest boat for a tow!

Good luck with your new ride!

I thought about that but she took one look at the boat and told me " forget it", lol. Guess she's gonna need some convincing, lol. Besides, i want to teach her to drive, that way I can concentrate on fishing.

i always bring the oars. with a boat that size, it is a lot easier to correct where the bow is pointing by using oars than the trolling motor. especially small corrections.
