Default The Will To Survive!

Some of you might be familiar with Manny's Pond in Hunterdon County. It's a small warm water pond that gets stocked with trout in the spring. It also has a catch and release setup for bass. So Saturday July 21st I was in the area so decided to try a few casts for bass. I was shocked when I saw this guy in the small stream that feeds this pond. If you look right below the green bush and above the the two submerged rocks you can spot him. I would have bet a million dollars all the trout were LONG gone ! The will to survive can be amazing!

Life finds a way. No doubt that those streams in hunterdon county arent suitable enough for trout. Maybe theres some wild ones taking residence upstream.

I was wishing I could help this guy out. Right in front f him was a drain pipe for a foot path and behind him about 20 ft was the warm pond. I was thinking about netting him and bringing him to some suitable water ' crazy huh' but he was far from lethargic and who knows !

Fishing Stony Brook (Mercer Cty) once in August for smallmouths, I found three rainbows in shallow water like that. Where a little spring released. I never forget that.
