Thumbs up Lake Hopatcong 5/19

Fished the big lake last night from 6pm to 2am, started off good. Got a couple smallies to 17.5 inches and a couple LM to 19 inches. 10 pm got hammered on consecutive casts 1st fish a nice 21 inch walleye real fat full of herring. Ok it looks like its gone be a GREAT NIGHT. 2nd cast BOOM, 20 inch wiper, sweet. After that it was all downhill, hooked a monster wiper around 11 that had to be around 10 lbs, got em close to the boat, and in true wiper fashion he dove straight down into some weeds when he saw the boat and that was it. I tried to get em out but he really pinned himself in this cabbage. By the time i got the lure free the monster wiper was gone. Oh well thats how it goes. After losing that fish I couldn't hook up with anything for the next 3 hours. It was still an AWESOME day/ night on the water. Didn't see or hear any of the other anglers doing much, beautiful night on the water. Lots of dudes doing the live bait thing. TIGHT LINES!!!
