Thumbs up Farrow System

I had some bad peeling and chipped paint on my boat from the prior owner, so I decided to remove it this season and start off fresh. I read about the Farrow System a few years ago, but the only marina that had it was in Cape May. Now there are few vendors in NJ and one has a mobile unit. Prices are comparable to soda blasting. The process is very low pressure (40-60 psi) and eco-friendly. I had the old paint removed the other day. The bottom looks great and is ready for paint with no sanding required. Definitely worth giving the Farrow System a look if you are interested in removing bottom paint. Here are the before/after shots.

Looks great Jay. I guess they charge by the foot?? If you don't mind me asking, what was the price per foot.

BTW.... Don't worry, I won't tell your wife

Thanks Gerry! The cost for my boat (28 express with 10 ft beam) would have been $45/ft, but since I scheduled in the winter season, they reduced the price to $37.50/ft. Their pricing is contingent on boat length, beam width, and travel from Mt. Holly, NJ. Owners can trailer their boat to their facility and save additional money. Hope this helps...

Sounds reasonable Jay considering how long and how much effort it would take to do it yourself.

It took two guys about 8 hrs for my boat size. Definitely would have spent a few weekends removing it by myself.
