Default Pike, Walleye and Muskie

Got out last weekend for a bit before work to scout the river out in a few of high water spots. Had a good morning with a handful of 30"+ fish including this pretty girl. Fish are in full blown spawn mode, as one chunk sprayed eggs all over me and my gear. I know they don't successfully spawn in NJ, but as always did my best for a quick photo and safe release.

This past weekend I decided it was time to bust out the boat for its maiden voyage of 2018. Got on the water 730 sunday morning to an area I've had my eyes on and was greeted by a stiff wind, way more than the 5-10 they forcasted. Gave it hell, but came up short. Relocated around noon to seek refuge from the wind and found some active mid-day Walleyes with a bonus Muskie mixed in. Had a nice flurry of action before packing it in around 230. No boat/motor/trailer issues and managed a few fish, not bad for a shakedown run.

Very nice, Rob. Off to a great start.

On a side note, Im not so certain there isnt some successful pike reproduction in NJ.

Thumbs up Re: Pike, Walleye and Muskie

Da Millstone giving it up lately! YEA BUDDY!!! Beautiful toothy mixed bag my friend!!! Great to hear the Hornets running in tip top shape!

JDTuna! I’ve caught baby pike in the Passaic all the way up into the Great swamp. They are spawning successfully in my opinion.

Great fish! Mid day walleyes? That's like winning the lottery! Why don't Pike successfully reproduce in NJ?

that's weird, had a dream last night that I put in the boat for the first time this year with a friend and when he asked what we were going for I answered with your post title, "pike, walleye, and muskie"!

ps- renewed my boat registration online and got the card in the mail but not the sticker, did I miss something?

Dont they stock pike in that baby-like sizes? However they dont even stock up there so it's unlikely that a juvenile swam all the way up there.
