Default Thanksgiving Weekend Wild Browns

Got out a couple of times over the long weekend. Cold, windy but the wild browns didn't mind! Caught one that was a very vibrant yellow...a golden brown lol.

Obviously somewhere in NJ on one of the many wild brown trout steams....LOL!
The underwater pic was a good one. Go Pro?

The fish look like two different strains of brown trout. Can any of the trout biologists ( professional or amateur) confirm or reject that observation? I know that several different strains of brown trout used to be raised and stocked in NJ.

Some very nice browns! Good photos, too. The trout you catch are always so photogenic.

The third one looks most like the wild browns I see in NJ; sparsely spotted with red spots generally along the lateral line. The fourth one looks somewhat like the browns I have seen stocked in NY, with the oblong spots and spots that seem to run together. The last one reminds me of the wild ones I pull out of the upper Delaware, with denser spots and a more haphazard distribution of the red spots.

The second one straight up reminds me of a landlocked salmon.

I'm sure there are people who may be able to tell which area, if not even the exact watershed, where each of these trout were caught just by the color patterns.

The crazy thing is all of these fish came from the same NEPA stream. Incredible the amount of variation on the wild browns! Never know what pattern you'll see.

I just smoke powerbait dipped in gulp juice. That brings out the colors in even a creek chub.
