Default splitrock perch action

a buddy and i headed up to the rock today to see if the fish wanted to play nice and we were not disappointed.. we had 8" plus out on the res. after a long walk out to the big island we started to drill holes and man it's time for new blades for the old mora auger, it took some effort to punch about a dozen holes to get things started we fished 30' to 17' and found the fish in the 20' to 25' range again they were glued to the bottom. we got 18 perch and lost a nice smallmouth at the hole it took my rippin rap, at least it was not a slime dart this time. i marked a lot of fish they would come up off the bottom take a look and go right back down again. we kept 12 perch ranging from 8" to 12" all but three perch were caught on tip ups it was a really nice day to be on old home waters. we had a total of 18 perch today.

The crew missed you on the cong today. Very slow but perch, gills and a couple pickerel hit the ice. Nice job on Splitrock and hope the ice holds up.

Badger you definitely have it dialed in.....nice job on the perch. A bunch of buddies and I fished LH this past weekend and the area we fished was nothing but smaller perch and a few crappy. We were only fishing in 5-7 fow so maybe should have moved deeper. The area we fished when we snagged weeds was loaded with scuds which I assume is what the perch were feeding on, good sign I assume for the lake as far as forage is concerned.

Is that buddy in the picture Kevin by any chance? If so tell him Tom said hello. Great job again finding the action.

caught my first ice fishing smallie jigging on that lake years ago. haven't made it up there for ice fishing since and unfortunately it's probably going to take a beating this week with the warmth and rain.
