I bet it killed you to just float past that tire! That strange weir place looks like a dream to fish, I would be all over that place! Healthy looking water for sure and nice rainbow too!! Those lures on the power lines reminds me only of the lines at Two Bridge Rd in Fairfield. Can't see how ppl get lures that high, nice selection too.

Not sure myself, but the Reservoir discharges water from the cold bottom rather than over top a dam. Also in the middle of the mountains which seem to have cold springs . Kinda like how the west branch Delaware is.

The water was moving pretty fast most of the float trip, the guide tried to hand me a rod with a Rapala on it but I am a "purist" spin fisherman, if there is such a thing.
He said November and December are lights out when all the big trout swim up to spawn. It is "winter" here also, very few bugs, low light etc etc, he also said between now and March it's sloooooow.
No pics of foot long brown trout sorry.
That weir area gets pounded more than a 10 dollah crack whore, hence the ornaments on the wires.
Boone Lake at the bottom is GONE, dam failure, see the million dollar homes with docks 100 ft from the water.

Sounds interesting! Looks like a fishy place, well maybe! Hopefully you’ll figure it out. Good luck on your Trout adventures. I’m sure you’ll find a good spot for tire hauling come spring time.
