The way he is holding the brownie, I doubt he is a beginner.
and the fact he caught a carp on a fly? that is one of the toughest fish to catch on a fly and you have to make a perfect cast without spooking the carp a few feet in front a carp and you have to sight fish the carp.
He is definitely a pro.
And the sizes of largemouth? Look where he is fishing - no back casting room. and he probably used sinking tip? these are tough conditions for fly fishing.

The carp were definitely tricky, especially since there's not much room to cast along the river - I got skunked a lot fishing for them haha. Luckily, a lot of the places I've been fly fishing so far have been rivers and smaller lakes/ponds, so no need for sinking tip yet!

I got those two largemouth on bigger swimbaits - a 4.5" sunfish swimbait and a 6" perch swimbait, but I have had a lot of luck fly fishing for bass with streamers and poppers.

For the Pike, I've just been using the 4x tippet that came with my combo and tied a foot long wire leader onto the tippet.
