Default mercury efi might be fixed !!

Ok , so after talking to mercury , i rebuilt the fuel pump and new plugs , but very little help on the issue .....so i went today i took off the throttle body to see what was goin on in there . I noticed built up oil , not a whole lot but enough , so i emptied the fuel rail made sure all connection were properly connected within the body and fuel rail reinstalled everything and started it up , it ran worse ...then before lol...but then i remembered i put the old throttle position sensor on thinking for some reason the new one went bad , reinstalled the new tps and fired it up ....full response , she was purring like a kitten ....so i think the body and rail was where the problem lied ...but hmmmmm i dont know exactly what the issue was !

Yeah steve , i limped back to the ramp on what seemed to be one ,or possibly 2 cylinders couldnt get her past 2k rpm when out in bay , and it seemed to be very intermittent first she sounded like crap then it would seem as if other cylinders kicked in , and drop back off ....so my guess is either stator ....or ign computer ....either which one or both ...gonna cost me around 400-1100.00 to fix ....which right now i dont have ...so my season is over ....unless invites are put out !

I see alot of those EFI's on ebay and parting out on craigslist, maybe just throw parts at it for cheap if you've narrowed it down. I know used parts arent always sure fire, but alot of guys blow them up and the rest is all good to go, u would be surprised at whats out there. Just keep looking around, U will find stuff just gotta look daily/every 2days

Sorry to hear you're still having issues, this is totally unrelated but if you install the ebay app on your phone you can save searches and set it to notify you when the item you're looking for gets listed. neat little trick.

sure sounds like your neutral position switch is bad.
IF you can run it without going over 2000-2500 and it stays steady but then shuts out when going over that , there is a very good chance the switch is showing the computer that the shifter is in neutral .
The code its throwing would show an over spin in neutral
