Default Assunpink Sunday 1-April...lots of Fish

started off late morning and glad we did as there was a tournament there

Fished shallow and connected on 10-12 LMB, but pickerel ruled the day...OHCH with the freshwater bluefish! caught too many but on ultra light tackle we managed to get most to the boat prior to a successful release or a quick biteoff

Also caught crappie, white and yellow perch on the jig.

Fish were caught on rapalas, spinners, and a jig..all in less than 4.5 ft of water with most in less that 3 ft! Water was COLD today and the wind " VERY COLD" in the late afternoon, but we managed a decent catch and release kinda day.

First trip of 2012 on the boat...SUCCESS!

Default Re: Assunpink Sunday 1-April...lots of Fish

Saw a lot of folks cranking the rattle traps with some success.

But due to the weeds/moss in the back part of the lake, there was a "hookup" with a lengthy piece of weeds and lots of slapping the stuff off at the end of a retrieve.

All the fish we saw caught including ours were in the back in < 5 ft water. And everyone set the hook...even if it was a slob of MOSS
