Default Cinco de Mayo Wild Browns

Had a couple of hours to kill before Chrisper and I headed to Lake Ontario, so I decided to check out the brown trout. The fish were aggressive, and it was great to be able to finally fish in short sleeves. I ended up catching 7 to 20 inches and losing a couple others. Only saw one other person when I was leaving. He proceeded to tell me the water was too cold to catch trout on lures lol. I decided to let him think that.

Whenever I skunk I often think of crazy explanations too :P

Nice browns. Speaking of water temps, how long till they get too high for fishing?

It really depends on where your fishing. As long as levels are good, it should be fine through June.

Water too cold for lures! Wow. That's one of my favorites. I fish streamers a great deal (i.e. lures for fly fishermen) and yes colder water temps require different techniques but as far as being too cold, never. Otherwise nobody would ever catch trout in the winter on lures or streamers and we all have mucho evidence to the contrary.

Pretty fishes dude. Assuming you just caught them with your bare hands with the water being that cold and all. Nicely Done!

"Heavy Things"?

That would spook them from hitting lures.
