Default outboard alarm question

the boat i purchased is a 2001 angler EAGLE with a 2001 merc 125 saltwater 2+2

when i got the boat the audible engine alarm did not work, i dont even get the check alarm when i turn the key. On the honda 225's at work the speaker for the alarm is made into the ignition box on the console. i dont even know were to start on this one

Pretty sure its its own plug on whatever panel of guage its on. Probably either need a new guage or panel. Also make sure the plug is connected on the motor end too.

Theres usually one bundle of wires in splitting to a few different plugs back there. Just double check they are all plugged in, if so its probably the guage up front.
