Default Kayak questions.....

Asking for some reccos for Christmas gifts. I dont yak but my son does so I dont have a clue. Thats why I ask.

He's got a Big Fish 120. 90% on Raritan Bay the other 10 on south Jersey ponds.

-PFD's...thought about a inflatable to upgrade what he has, will that work on a Yak?

-FF...does not have one currently...looking to add one

-Wet weather and cold water gear..wet suits, dry suits, rain gear?

-Yak specific rods...worth it?

HAve a ton more questions thatll come to me.....thanks guys

If he plans on chasing stripers in the spring, a dry suit is a must

Wanted send out a broad set of questions to see what replies I’d get, then pick some gifts from there and build on rest then winter.

Thanks for cart suggestion. No he does not have one but would be a great idea for the tough launches.

Appreciate the info guys. Keep them coming.

Check out headwaters kayak channel on youtube. A great resource. Very informative and unbiased.
