Default Merril Creek Bucket at the Buzzer

Took a nice long hike around Merril Creek. Like any good fisherman by a body of water, I brought my pole to hit any little spots I could slide into as scarce as they were. When I wasn’t getting shooed off of the dam, I was striking out....until right before I hit the footbridge to head back towards the lot. Spotted a nice bass tucked in among some sunnies and a log, right at the mouth of the creek. Wouldn’t touch my swimbait but, as I have found out, this is the pit boss’s world and we are just living in it. Sucked it in on the drop and saved the skunk!!

Nice catch. I love the hike around but never brought a pole. Next time for sure,

Not many spots to get into but the dams are definitely the best opportunities. Problem is you are not allowed down on the rocks. I’m thinking if you go later in the evening everyone is gone for the day and you’ll get a chance to hit the deep water and structure there. I have fished by the tower on the rocks with no problem but today was the first time I was asked to not be down by the water on the main dam.

Nice bass. The power company owns it and watches it closely.
