Thumbs up Upper Delaware river float trip 4/23/17- EAST Branch:

Wilson and I floated the EAST Branch of the Delaware river. This trip has been on my to-do list for a long time but with persistent drought conditions it has been put off. We floated the better part of the EB putting in not far from where the Beaverkill enters the river. Start time on the river was 7am under the thick fog. The water was gin clear and cold. I was really hoping for quality over quantity on this trip thinking the less pressured EB might have some big stupid fish. We fished our arms off and by the time we took out at Fireman's Field in Hancock we were only able to scratch out a handful of 12" Brown Trout and a few small SMB. The water looked very fishy, and we hit some killah spots ! Only boat on the EB (that we saw) today. A beautiful river as it runs along the base of a mountain just about the entire length. Seemed like a tributay entered the river every mile or so. Start time temp was 34*, take out temp was 65*.
Could have fished up there Monday since I have off but the rivers are high and tough to wade right now, so I flipped over all the cards, tucked in my tail and pointed the truck toward home. Chances are I won't go back up there again till the fall.

Couldn't ask for a much more scenic view. You'll get 'em next time.
