Default 1/4 on the big D

Woke up and needed something to do. Hmm, could either go walleye fishing or cabela's to send gift cards. Fishing won out, but I needed to get my 2020 licence . Took a ride up to dow's, and who do I see as I open the door? None other than the legend himself, fast Eddie. We chit chat a little and he invites me to come along on his boat as he is solo. With a plan made we get bait and licences and off we go. The first launch destination was no good so plan b was put into effect. We launch without a hitch and make our way to the spot. Things are slow for a little bit with some missed bites. Then eddie hooks into a big heavy fish; thing is staying down and makes some nice runs. Thinking it Mackie? Finally get it to net and it's huge channel cat. Take a couple of pics and off goes. Eddie then proceeds to catch 3 walleye, 2 keepers and short. Mean while I'm hacking it up like a newbie. Finally change my set up and land a chub. Haha. Well i put that chub on for bait and landed 2 walleye. 1keeper and 1 short. At least the skunk was off. Fished some more but no takers. It was getting late so we decided to call it. Not bad for an early January day. Thanks again Eddie for the invite, and I hope your motor made it home as well

Definitely took a while to get on the river with roads being closed and driving all over to find a place to launch. It was worth it though. We usually don’t launch boats this time of year. Scratchy bite for sure. But believe me, that place was pounded over the holidays. Definitely cool to run into you and a pleasure to have you on the boat. Thanks for the help and thanks for the ratchet strap. Thank god my engines not sitting on a highway somewhere! LMAO!

Way to get it done fellas. I know you say there wasn't much action, but to me that honestly sound like a blast especially for winter season. Never expected that many bites on Delaware this time of the year!
