Default Anyone catching fall stockies?

I have yet to have any luck catching trout recently stocked and I wanted to see how everyone else was doing since I haven't seen any posts/pics recently. I fished the south branch on Sat. The day after the stock in the Flemington area and didn't have any luck only catching some dink SMB. I spoke with three other fisherman that day and none of them had caught anything. My local pond, Echo Lake just got stocked on Tuesday and I stopped by last night for a few casts but no luck (it was already dark though and I have never had much luck catching trout after dark).

Would be interested to hear how everyone else is doing......

Good question. I was expecting at least a few post last weekend showing off some fall stockie catches, but somehow the only pic of a stockie last week was of a dying one I posted

The lack of reports should make it evident. Compare this to the posts of trout in the spring. Clearly the majority of trout aren't biting.

Green trout will do for now

I just think a lot of guys are focusing on better things... like fish that weren't just dumped off a truck and tossed into dwindling pools. The fall feedbag for more enticing game fish is upon us. Trout fish in late November/early December and pray we get water.

This time of year is very different then the spring most of these fish are very skitish and more interested in chasing each other around.... I was out last week day after they stocked the rockaway. I got a few on some Caddis flys and moved to a deep pool and picked two more with the spinning rod gulp worms wacky rigged did the trick

8 fish last week and weekend over the course of 3 trips. Really had to work for them and fish very slowly. I had people work through the area I was fishing using spinners, lures, gobs of worms and didn't see anyone get a hit. No love on powerbait either.

It appeared to me like the fish wanted to spawn. Some were pairing up and I think some of my hits were out of anger.

yeah i was going to swing by after work, when i didn't have time to get to anything better, but Jigman's reply is pretty spot on haha.

You'll have to check in with the bucketbrigade.com forum for info on freshly dumped fall stockies hahah
