Default Monster pike, browns, brookies, rainbows (6/29/19-6/30/19)

Hit a trout stream super early on Saturday, and found the fish more than willing to cooperate. Fished for a little while then packed up to head out for some pike.

The pike spot was fairly slow, and it took a little to get them going. I thought I saw a large, pike-like shape in the water by my offering, but I figured it was just a shadow. A few seconds later a monster pike exploded out of the water, but missed the hooks. I remained patient, and got her to strike again but again, no hookup. My heart sank. That was a beast of a fish. I had to quickly wrap things up due to a situation at home.

Got some time to fish on Sunday afternoon, so I went straight back to the spot. Once again, it took a little while to get things going. A had a few swipes from smaller pike, then I got a solid hookup. The fish came up top and I saw it was the monster from the day before. After an intense fight, I landed her. Yet another mega fat pike. I'm guessing she was around 15lbs. After a quick picture, she swam away strong. Hit one more spot and caught a couple of average pike and called it a day.
