Gary D from NJF was also with us assisting. All the credit has to go to the captain, Dom from Coastal Charters; he knew just what to do and we just followed his lead.

and Tom, I got my karma payback in RI monday and tuesday with some fantastic tog fishing both days and the bad weather avoiding us almost completely despite the forecast!

And hopefully this also reminds people to make sure they have all their safety equipment and it WORKS. These guys had a radio that didn't work and a flare gun that didn't work. we barely saw them waving a hand flare. They also only had 3 life vests for 4 guys and i highly doubt the dog crate floated. They boat capsized maybe 3 minutes at most after we pulled them off... It happens eerily fast!

Chris great job again by all involved. Literally everyone would have been in dire straits if not for your charter's efforts. I believe Justin said no EPIRB either. Too many people think "It won't happen to me", it can! A couple grand in safety equipment maintained properly in 58 degree water could have been the difference between a close call and a call to relatives. If it was dark or you weren't close by, this would have gone real bad real quick as you said. Thank God for those involved this had a good ending and again congratulation to all involved who were onboard Coastal Charters. Gary my apologies in my initial post for leaving you out, didn't realize other NJFer's we're on board.

Chris glad to hear Karma repaid you with two great days on the Tog grounds.

yeah, once they would've capsized in 2-3 minutes it would've been nearly impossible to see them bobbing there in that chop.
