So I take it they want to end (fishing) or retaining striped bass in the fall of 2025 ? How could this be enforced ? They can't even keep up with the poaching in Raritan Bay in the spring. Patrol 127 miles of coastline, not including back bays and rivers. What about surf fishermen at 2am on a Wednesday evening in the middle if Island Beach State Park in November . Private boats will be pirates and just go out at night. I could see the party and charter boat sector being shut down, it would be a haven for poachers. People will still be able to go fishing, who is out there checking boats ??? How many private boats ever get checked ? I surf fished for years and NEVER saw a single game warden. They can't keep up with the poaching of blackfish on all the jetties in broad daylight.

It cant be better said than that!!!!
The ONLY ones taking a hit here are the for hire rec fishing guys. Patrol and enforce all the coastline? GTFOH. Aint happening. Y'all cant keep a single pier in the Raritan Bay clean let alone an entite state. Make whatever rules ya want. Blatantly obvious the only ones it hurts is the for hire industry.
