Sunday Blackfishing
Steamed several miles with Mikey K, Doug and Scoward to try something deeper in search of some keeper Blackfish since the inshore fishery seems to be loaded with shorts.
After a few wiggles and re anchoring once, we finally came tight on the small piece we were targeting and it was game on. Problem was you had to weed though so many Seabass picks and wait for the right bite to connect with a Blackfish.
We probably had 15 keepers ORL and we had triple that in keeper size Seabass. Most fish were before the tide change and once that happened it was a slow pick.
Nice day to be out on the water none the less. Biggest fish was 3 or 4 lbs but I'll take what we got with much improved fishing from recent years.
