PROWLER5 - SEPT. 9TH, TUES. - OCEAN FLUKE REPORT

Hey gang, we had a decent amount of customers today. We had high expectations to go out and land some more quality big fluke but that did not happen with the conditions. We steamed right out to the grounds where we caught fish yesterday and when we got a couple of miles from there, the ocean started to get rollie. The first drift we put a keeper in the boat, a handful of shorts and then it all went downhill from there. We made 3 more drifts with just some shorts and the ocean got worse. She came on 25 out of the east and steady. I told one of the Sheepshead Bay captains on the radio that we had all the cards stacked against us today with the fast drift. It was just hard to fish today out there. There were not a lot of boats out either. I hated to do it but around 11:30 we had to retreat all the way back to the islands to finish off the day. It's a shame because we had really nice people on the boat and we were hoping for a better result. We took our licking today so tomorrow we are going to take a pass. Our next trip will be Thursday, Sept. 11th. We have our regulars coming down. Thanks, Capt. Scott
