They do, most have federal observers on board which I believe are paid for by our tax dollars. What's the point of hiring federal observers if you're not going to use their numbers. NMFS use to report the differences in the stock assessments but the differences were so significant they stopped reporting it since it was self incriminating and didn't support the narrative they wanted.

Big bone of contention with them having to pay them , and most times I’m told they are laying sick in the cabin
