Re: Proposed reduction measures from the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission to limit Striped Bass - Letter of Opposition
Dear Mr. Cimino,
I, Captain Scott Hilliard, owner/operator of the F/V Prowler V submit my opposition to the ASMFC proposed closure of the Interstate Management Plan for Atlantic Striped Bass. The proposed draconian regulations will gravely affect small businesses that operate in the party and charter vessel industries.
The economic impact in our local area and its waterfront businesses will bear financial losses and erode the economic growth we have worked so hard to develop.
This new proposed shutdown will be the tipping point that will unquestionably force good businesses to close their doors.
I respectfully request your assistance to help safeguard the recreational fishing industry.
