Offshore Sea Bass Report – December 4
The fishing was outstanding once again today! Although the morning started off a bit slower than our previous trip, the seabass we caught were impressively large. In addition to the seabass, we reeled in a good mix of porgies and a couple of pollock to complete the day’s haul.
As the current eased throughout the day, we shifted to a couple more wrecks and enjoyed even better fishing. By the time we headed back, we had a full boat limit of giant seabass weighing up to 5 lbs, along with up to 20 porgies per person.
The highlight of the day was Melvin Alexander of Philadelphia, PA, who claimed the pool prize with an 8 lb pollock! Melvin also caught a giant seabass that could have taken the pool if not for his pollock.
Looking ahead, the forecast looks good for the weekend, and spots are still available for the trip departing at 10 PM Saturday night.
