If anyone is interested, we at Heroes on the Water New Jersey are all volunteers. We take our military veterans and first responders out kayak fishing to help them relax, rehabilitate and reintegrate. We provide everything they need for a wonderful day on the water with their family and friends. There is absolutely no charge to them.

We do all of this through the kind and generous donations of our local community.... and boy are we lucky to have all of you in this area. I started volunteering with them as part of the NJ Chapter's leadership team in 2012 and helped grow the chapter for the first 5 years before stepping down to allow others to join the leadership team. I never stopped volunteering at the events for the past 12 years and just recently joined the leadership team again. We have two arms in NJ, a therapeutic operation at Picatinny Arsenal serving patients from the Lyons VA Hospital and the general chapter. We will, again, be doing several events in 2024 and I'll be sure to let you know about them. We could always use some volunteers on those days.
