Captain incredible fishery you have in Montauk. Great reports! I'm curious though why in many of your pics there are fluke ribbons being saved on the cleaning station when the boat is done fishing for the day. I know there's a lot of confusion about the use of ribbons or strips but I see them in almost every one of your reports. What are NY's regulation for boats filleting at sea and using ribbons from fish caught on previous trips as opposed to each days trip.

The reason I ask is I thought NY and NJ were the same in that respect for private boats, for hire and party boats which is every day resets and ribbons can only be used from that days catch. If so, what would be the point of saving ribbons from the previous day's trip, wouldn't that pose a risk for the boat and angler being fined.
