Went fishing in 48 degree Carnegie Lake this afternoon on a cool, sunny day in a sou’easter gale before a rain storm. Caught and released a gizzard shad, 3 shiners, 3 yellow perch, 5 black crappies to 11” and 8 white perch. Most of the fish hit a black 1/32 oz leadhead jig and 1” blue flake twister tail on 2 lb test line. Caught a few white perch with Walmart red worm 🪱 halves on two gold hooks and a 1/32 oz unpainted leadhead jig on 4 lb test line. Caught nothing with worms on 12 lb test line. Landed 1,043 fish in 43 trips this year. Saw 8 other fishermen catch crappies today. An adult bald eagle was in a nearby tree.
