Went ultralight jigging in a 43 degrees Central Jersey lake this evening on a cloudy, cool day with a south wind small craft advisory. More than 20 fishermen caught a lot of fish. The Game Warden caught two of them fishing without a license. I caught and released 51 white perch, 3 yellow perch and a black crappie with Walmart red worm halves on two gold hooks and a 1/32 oz unpainted leadhead jig on 4 lb test line. Landed 3 doubles including a mixed double of yellow and white perch. Gave 10 white perch to Nadia at the Ukrainian National Home. Caught 697 fish in 23 trips this year for a 30+ fish per trip average. Saw an adult bald eagle catch a fish then eat it in a tree on the other side of the lake.
