In brief the RFA's position on this is to only support the designation of a Marine Sanctuary if there is language in the final proposal which makes an allowance for recreational fishing in perpetuity.
If you're in agreement your response could go something like this.
"As a recreational fishermen I fully support the preservation of this area but would only support the Marine Sanctuary designation if there was language in the final proposal that makes an allowance for recreational fishing access in perpetuity" |
Other groups feel that even if that wording is put in now it is too easily changed .
Best to not support the change at all . Keep it as it is .
