Opening day
Caught, tagged and released 2 17” fluke with a plain hook Ava A-17 in Manasquan Inlet this afternoon on the incoming tide. Another fisherman said that he caught a 22” fluke on a minnow. Saw a striped bass caught in Point Pleasant. A spear fisherman shot a striped bass but it escaped. A cormorant caught and ate 2 blackfish. Canada geese, Brant, oystercatchers and osprey were flying. Saw a big oil slick float out the inlet. Reported it to the Coast Guard. Nobody showed up.
