Re: Greenwood Lake Public Launch Update 9/28/21
Been some posts lately about the new state record landlocked salmon and impacts it will have on the pressure or attention the body of water it was caught from will get now that the location has been publicly disclosed.
For anyone with those concerns, imagine the same if Greenwood Lake doesn't get it's public access Capt. Dave and others are fighting for and the ripple effect that decision will have on the remaining "public lakes". The pressure less lakes, streams, reservoirs etc. available to the public will have on other bodies of water will be enormous.
Hopefully the hard work put into maintaining public access will pay off and for anyone who hasn't signed the petition or letter you should think through the consequences no public access to Greenwood will have on everywhere else you fish.
If the public can't fish Greenwood for walleye as an example, what impact will that have on the pressure Hopatcong receives for the same. And if a precedent is set, Hopatcong will be the next to argue no public access. It would be an absolute shame if the Homeowners Association or Marina Owners or whoever is driving this agenda win out as the consequences across the state will be significant.
Just food for thought when your help is requested to maintain access rights.
