Sweet teeth Saturday, salty Sunday! 6/19-20
Finally found some time to get on the water this weekend. Hit the river for Pike Saturday afternoon. First spot was dead, no signs of life. 2nd spot had signs of life and I cracked a nice medium Pike on a plug. Had a few more swipes after that but they didn’t come right. 3rd spot was a trek through a mosquito and tick infested flood plain. It was soggy but this is where I found the mother load. I had non stop action from 330 in the afternoon til 440. Went 11-14 on Pike ranging from 24-32 inches. No monsters but some of the sickest action I’ve ever had in a 70 minute time slot. Could’ve stayed longer but I was satisfied with the power hour.
Got a text Saturday to get in on some Sea Bass action Sunday morning. Ok let’s go! Gotta fish when I have the time. Got to the grounds around 7 AM and had a 5 man limit of Sea Bass by 11:30 AM. Steady action all around with lots of throw backs. Bonus catches include a keeper Tog on a plain gold jig and the Cap’n swung in a nice sized Ling! Tried for Fluke inside but were welcomed by Dogfish and Skates. South wind is absolute trash for Fluke fishing in my opinion. I used the same jig all morning for the tasty Sea Bass and never needed to touch bait. Great fishing with awesome people on a sick boat! Thank you for the invite Chris! I had a blast! TIGHT LINEZ!
