Default Stellar Sea Bassin' on the Capt Cal

Opening day of the 2021 Sea Bass season on the party boat Capt. Cal was stellar!
Capt. Ron steamed a full boat of us way out east of the Shark River inlet and dropped anchor in 100' of water. I started out jigging (A27) and catching only bergals while watching others bailing keepers on clam. I quickly switched to clam and started putting nice keepers in my cooler.
We stayed in that area all day making only a couple of wiggles to reset the anchors. We got pushed by the tide into 140" at one point and started to catch only conger eels so we quickly got outta there!
Finished the day with a limit as did most everyone on board. Deckhands Amber and Greg did a fabulous job keeping us in fresh bait, untangling lines , dehooking those nasty congers and filleting all those fish.
Calm seas, beautiful warm sunny weather, great crew , terrific fishing, all in all a hellava day at sea!
