Went to the trouser trout hole after work, was 4 or 5 older gents stationed on the pond catching 1 after another. We came to find out the rest of the pond is very shallow & weedy so majority of trout stay in the other end. We caught a ton of little pickerel, I got 1 crappie & got a little trout bite after the older folks left, I got 3 rainbows on 5 bites in about 20 minutes before it got to dark, Devon just got pickerels & is still left with taboo trout as her only trout catch 😆
Side note with NJ being c&r only right now I thought anglers wouldn't be fishing live bait, powerbait & barb less hooks but boy was I wrong, saw 8 rainbows belly up already quite a few floated immediately after being released. Just sucks for a pond to get maybe 300 fish & have so many be killed already. We stuck with jigs n gulp & trout magnets, I guess we should of cheated
