FISHERMEN/Saturday Stripers!!
Awesome first day of Striper fishing for us today....
Loads of fish on top first thing in the morning but they were very hard to catch! Had them rolling all around the boat, tossed everything we could at them just to pick a couple.
After the change of tide it was game on! Plain jigs, jigs with tails worked the best with the fish in the deeper water. Released a 52, 44 and 42 pounder before the traffic spooked the bigger fish.
Slugged away with fish on every drift, Most over 30 inches up to 38. No bonus size fish today. Big John lead the way with 5 would be keepers. Lots of nice pics for the first trip.
Back at it tomorrow, Monday doesn't look good with gusts to 40 knots.
