Default Keyport Seahawk - Picky fish, but nice size

Headed out, decided to bait fish instead of troll. Got ourselves a bucket of bunker and set up shop. Fairly quickly we had fish picking, dropping, and playing with our rigs but we weren't hooking up at all...

I picked up my rod and held it with the spool disengaged ready to feed line, assuming they were just small fish anyway. Next one i felt i did my best to not let him feel any tension for as long as possible and finally hooked up. wasn't a small fish though! landed the fish, which felt good after personally failing miserably the last two trips.

I knew i had to switch to a sliding weight rig and leave the spool disengaged after that so i switched it up and slowly picked away at 3 more nice keeper sized fish.

On one hook up, the sliding weight got tangled up in the other rod's line and ended up getting stuck way up the line so the landing of that fish got interesting when the sinker gave captain John a little love tap on the eye I don't think he wants to talk about that though... I do have a pretty sweet selfie picture he took of his eye... might have to use it for blackmail at some point this season

We waited for the tide change thinking we'd get a wave of hook ups but the action completely died and we headed in.
