I have fished the Blairstown stretch of the Paulinskill since I was a kid. Removing the dam will make the river even more intriguing even upstream from the site. It will be interesting to see what swims upriver from the Delaware. I'm looking forward to the future fishing opportunities. Some, however, are resistant to any changes. I met one unhappy fisherman who was fishing near Stillwater. He complained about the probability of American shad swimming upstream to spawn and die. His concern was for the new forage for the increasing bear population in the area. Fish carcasses along the banks will certainly encourage bears to scavenge and become a nuisance to fishiermen. That's another story for another day.
