It's not too bad. I was on he water last weekend. The water is high relative to where it usually is this time of the year, but not unmanageable.

The water is unusually cold and more turbid than you would expect for late August, but the fish are biting just fine. I caught a bunch of channel cats and a striper and some small bass.

The problem I ran into was the mosquitoes. Before the sun even set, clouds of mosquitoes descended on me. I bailed on the fishing and paddled back to my car as fast as I could. By the time I reached my car and loaded up my kayak, the top of my head was textured with little bumps from mosquito bites. Dozens of mosquitoes followed me right into my car and I had to drive home with the windows down to keep them from biting me while I drove. It's the worst I've ever seen it.
