If a rod is splined correctly on build there’s not many inshore fish that will torque over the rod on fight , especially if you point rod at fish during fight , won’t happen !
If your tackling big tuna on stand up then it may prevent the blank from torquing ,
, I can’t answer that question since I’ve only fought big fish on straight up guides
In my opinion I’d rather have a quality stacking taper rod with a super fast recovery such as Gary Loomis’s Edge Rods , not much compares !

while the torque on a inshore rod may be minimal, fishing heavy bucktails all day you will def see a difference between a spiral wrapped rod and a normal conventional wrapped rod.
I have changed out many factory rods I bucktail with to spiral wrapped and it def gives less fatigue at days end doing so.
