CompTime Charters-Fourth of July-Bluefin Report
Departed the inlet at 3 a.m. and ran in the dark til first light when we we able to step it up. Got to the spot and put the lines out. Lots of life and tons of sand eels on the sounder. Didn't take long and we had a double knock down. Brought the first fish to the side of the boat and sunk the gaff. The second fish would not cooperate and wanted to run to all sides of the boat. Had the fish where we could see it and went to gaff and the hook pulled. It was a slow day out on the midshore grounds but thankfully we we're able to go home with meat. Gonna try it again when we have the weather window!!!!
