I use a tandem set up. I generally lead with a larger nymph like a bead head prince or Hare's ear. I follow that with a smaller midge(size 18-22) about 12-18 inches behind the first fly. Fishing this time of year can be tough, drag free drifts are a must. Try not to leave a lot of fly line on the water if any at all. If you can, fish without the indicator. You will totally be in touch with the drift of your nymphs this way. Hope this helps...good luck.
