I was off today and wanted to get some casts in. Planned on taking the boat out until I saw the wind forecast for the day.
Not good for the jboat so I decided to hit up the trout grounds instead. Checked the flows and they were back down to just above average so off I went.
First 15mins there I hooked and lost what felt like a nice fish. Fought for about 3 headshakes then got off.
Nothing for the next 40 mins or so until I made my way further from the starting point. Hooked 2 browns in short order. One was 15ish and the other was the biggest of the day at 16.5 with a nice full belly!!!
Worked my way down further to a nice big pool and proceeded to catch 2 good size crik smallies around 14/15 inches. Was about to start walking back but took another cast..... BAM, another brown at 14".
Just about back at the car I hit the spot where I lost the first fish. Couple casts later I landed a nice thick bow! Probably a leftover spring stockie but was starting to color up and had nice pink fins. Perfect way to end a day of trick or troutin!!!!
