I've tied the mono-braid with knots. Don't know anyone who uses a swivel. It's a good idea. But cuts cast smoothness.

Why not a swivel at the bitter end of the flouro leader?

I like the longer leader when casting because I still have a few wraps on the reel when launching. That I THINK gives it a little more spring and does not stress the joining knot since your trigger finger is on the leader when letting it rip. I like it that both casting and conventional reels.

It's a personal like. Not gospel. I'm sure others

It's hard for me to launch with longer leader due to the swivel getting stuck in the guides.
Do you have a preferred method of joining the flouro and braid together? Would that make it as strong as using a barrel swivel or stronger?

Thanks
