Default Re: hi viz braid for surf casting ?

Why only three feet of floro leader?

I do two rod lengths generally. Abrasion on the line while casting is way down. And less likely to spook the fish 15-16 feet away. BUT..... Need a smooth joining not as it runs through the guides with every cast to keep the distance up when you cast.

And if you get a bite off or a break off - you likely still have enough leader/shock line left and no tying pain in the a*s knots in the wind. Just my thoughts.

I also feel your pain seeing tiny stuff as you age. LOL
