i was on good ice at the valley i think 3 years ago or maybe 4 can't remember but it was fairly recent. either way it's rare, you're right. I'd rather jig from my boat than pack into the those first few ice fishing spots. It just needs to go one way or the other, this partial freezing crap just sucks the past 2 years.
